Annotation The main aim of this work is to provide an insight into the variety of motives which influence mothers‘s choice of a forest kindergarten as a pre-school education option for their children. The theoretical part is describing the forest kindergartens and is focusing on the particular pedagogical conceptions which can inspire also forest kindergartens. The empirical part is then attending to analysis of data acquired in interviews with mothers who had chosen the forest kindergarten. The conclusion is summarizing the most important factors influencing their choice. The objective of my work is to provide impulses to reconsider the purpose of forest kindergartens according to parents‘s expectations to people who work in forest kindergartens or to the potential founders of them.
