Annotation The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and research part. The objective of this work is to create educational material for teachers in secondary schools, especially for teachers of the subject civics. Content is focused on new religious movements and religious sects in the Czech Republic. Several chapters are devoted to the meaning and origin of the word sect. Part of the work deals with the life of an individual in the sect. The research focused on the students concerned the issue of new religious movements, sects and sectarianism. The author I wanted to find out what opinions, attitudes and values of today's young people hold. Whether they have encountered in their lives with representatives of religious sects, whether it is these representatives of sects tried to lure between himself and what is important that students know where to seek help and whom to contact in case of emergency. It can say that students' knowledge in this field are high. They are aware of the risks associated with the possible membership of any sectarian society, familiar practices such sects seeking new members.
