Annotation	Since 1994, the Children and Youth Institute of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (IDM) has worked out several researches on opinions and attitudes of young people with the aim of creating time series. This research, carried out in the year 2002, linked up to these previous researches. Results which are presented in this research report are compared with results from 1997. The research in 2002 covered a sample of 524 secondary school students and 391 other youth at the age 20-26. Young people were giving their opinion on many various issues such as leisure time acticvities, negative social phenomena (unemployment, violence, drugs or crime), their life values, religion, interest in public affairs, opinions on rasism, evaluation of current situation in Czech Republic, opinion on actual political processes , and relations of the CR to other institutions such as NATO or EU. Inquiry also focused on plans and expectations of young generation concerning their occupation, relationships in their family, family’s living standard etc. Obtained results have created a comprehensive frame for deeper reflections on development of young people’s opinion at the turn of the third millennia.
