Annotation In 2017, the National Library of the Czech Republic initiated a repetition of a national representative survey of children focusing on reading books, reading behavior, usual ways of spending leisure time, the effects of the family and school environment on the relationship of children to books and reading in general. . The research was carried out using quantitative and qualitative methods, the target group were children aged 6 to 8 years (the youngest school children), 9 to 14 years (older children), and young adults aged 15 to 19 years ( youth). Parents of children aged 6 to 8 years were also surveyed. The research was carried out in cooperation with the research agency Nielsen Admosphere. The research was carried out by the F2F (CAPI) method on a representative sample of 2,009 respondents, based on quota selection in accordance with the socio-demographic structure of the Czech population.
